Scaled down painting. Copy of Joseph Wright of Derby's painting 'An experiment on a bird in the air pump'. First figure painting. I chose it because painting figures lit by candlelight is tricky and because I was able to visit the original painting at the National Gallary. Painted in one week.

Scaled up painting. Copy of Turners painting 'The slave ship 1840.' Three meters by two meters 45. Painted in one week in very thin layers to avoid cracking the paint when the canvas was transported.

Painting exercise copying paintings by Andrew Salgado, with his blessing. We gridded them up and painted on a base mid tone. From here we adder highlights and shadow working from printouts of the original. This is my finished product being exhibited in the linbury gallery .

Commissioned back cloth for a children's show. Castle scene painted in quite a cartoon like style in accordance with the reference image they sent me. The colours are deliberately over saturated and were laid down in washes of rosco paints.
