Albert Herring

English language opera about the loss of innocence, social stratification, Victorian morality, and coming of age

Albert Herring in the Dora at RWCMD. I was asked to paint the sky on a fold out screen which was to emerge from a crate and stretch across the stage.

Set Design by April Dalton. Director Martin Constantine. Show Photography by Mark Douet

Process Work

Photographs taken throughout the making process and tech week. I stretched the canvas onto the frame of the fold out screen. I then painted the sky with a combination of a pneumatic spray gun and and sash brushes. The brief was to create a cartoon like, idealised sky with reference to the toy story clouds and the opening credits of the Simpsons. I also painted the inside of several crates, helped stencil the wall paper and attended paint calls
