Wearable Art Show

2018 RWCMD

The wearable art show challenges students to make costumes from scrap materials provided. The 2018 show was based on the English-language opera The Rake's Progress. My character was Anne Trulove. We all made our costumes and performed in them.

Show photography by Olivia Racionzer.

Costume Construction

I worked using off cuts of ribbon, white mesh, felt and a table cloth to create a 18th century corset and layered skirts which drew attention to the pointe work performed in the show. My character is pure of heart and crossed in love so I chose the colour scheme of vibrant crimson and white to evoke purity and innocence alongside passion and spirit.
